Originally released digitally by the artist at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, "Songs in the Key of Wilt" is a succinct and satisfying offering from Berlin's Wilted Woman. Two sharp examples of her askew electronic instrumental style - the castlequest soundtrack of "Snoopy Wisdom", the simultaneously anxious and dexterous techno funk of "Correction" - are paired with tracks featuring rare vocal performances - the icy synth pop future classic "Where's My Generator" and the breezy live cover of Laid Back's "Bakerman". In my opinion it's a highlight in the expansive Wilted Woman catalog and well worth materializing on this well-pressed, beautiful sounding vinyl record.
