Various obsessions have guided the Canadian harsh noise project THE RITA into different paths of rough, abrasive and textural constructions of live and recorded sound since 1996. From genre cinema sound sources, to cage diving with great white sharks, to women's nylons, the various deconstructed elements of the live and pre-recorded sources lead to a heavily directed and immersive listening experience.

Now, Vancouver performance artist LORELEI is a regular participant in THE RITA's international live presentations and recordings bringing the specific themes that drive the sound and imagery of THE RITA virtually to life.
