Jake Muir is a sound artist and field recordist currently based in Berlin, Germany. Fascinated by musical intimacy, Muir centers his work around the use of 'found sound', such as field recordings, vinyl loops, and shortwave radio clips. These audio fragments are manipulated and welded together to further distance them from their original context. Every project is distinct and informed by different concepts and techniques, each evoking Muir's deep ties to location, texture and mood.

Muir draws from an extensive background in field recording and has trained alongside professional sound recordists Chris Watson, Jez Riley French, and Gordon Hempton.
