Title - Research and Development 1: Field Annihilation // Technoise Cuts Through Stonecircle Ambient Grime
Debut split album of wyrd grym from Stonecirclesampler and George Rayner-Law ov Degradation/Brachleign Tapes following from their debut split tape You're Like a Scalpel, I'm Like a Flick Knife tape that was described by Boomkat as "a faded crumble of dubbed-out textures and saturated amen fire" as part of respective groups Iceman Junglist Kru & Degradation.
Research and Development 1 is the first in a new collaborative research series into the outer edges of drone drowned electronics, future Research and Development planned projects include an album of abstracted Avebury field recordings.
Research and Development 1 combines two sides of crunchy electronics in the style of Stonecirclesampler's rare tapes noise project NCR & George Rayner-Law's boundary pushing analogue electronics, this split tape brings together a musical/right racket equivalent of a molotov cocktail mixed with equal parts petrol and lit with a shared love of early 2000s grime, The Shadow Ring & DJ Scud
Field Annihilation builds on earlier cassette tape noise releases, and consists of multi-speed hardware processing of field recording loops. These include church bells in Trieste, Wuyishan mountain in Southeastern China and Loch Lomond, among others. This interruptive and atemporal processing was then cut up and collaged, and reprocessed, building up layers and layers of tape saturation. It is a highly textured mono saturation wall, aiming for a kind of totalising, annihilating sound and equilibrium between back and forth, with a wide frequency range.
Technoise Cuts Through Stonecircle Ambient Grime sparls 30 minutes of searching grime-tekno and apocalyptic dancehall-dubs dragged up from the depths of the Thames while searching for the green man inn LDN, After Dark
