This is what I call band ambient: common instruments serving abstraction. Guitar tension, edging, endless build-ups. At low or moderate volumes, I can see people studying to this or using it as background music. At very high volumes, it gets unwieldy in a glorious way; intruding motifs are legitimately jarring before settling into the drone of things. While sonically unpredictable, the tension has a familiar, song-y release. Compositionally, this is classic song form poured out and elasticized to stunning expanse.
