Dhangsha (Bengali for ‘destruction’) is the project and alias of electronic artist and educator Aniruddha Das. Working at the interface of bass culture and experimental noise and using the principles of minimalism, repetition and fragmentation, he creates a kind of "mutant dancehall,” whereby alien synth motifs evolve over sparse but heavy beats. Taking account of the political vibrations of the world about him, he uses various distortions to impel each track towards a sense of impending collapse.

Workshop - "Between Bass Culture And Experimental Noise," - We will be examining composition through live improvisation with hardware, guided by the principles of "Minimalism, Repetition and Fragmentation", and talking about the political implications of sound, frequency and rhythm.

The workshop will demonstrate Aniruddha' workflow and rationale & participants will be invited to manipulate the equipment and live remix Dhangsha's sounds.
